Stuart Leiby - S2000

While we are certainly best known for our Quaife Engineering QBE6U (EVO 4G63) and QKE8J (Honda K-Series) Sequential Gearboxes we also have a significant number of customers doing impressive things with Momentum supplied Inline Gearboxes.

A prime example is this very special S2000 belonging to Stuart Leiby of T1 Race Development . Bucking the trend of swapping 2JZ, LS or K-Series motors Stuart stayed loyal to the original F22, although it has benefited from the addition of some boost.

When the S2000 rolled off the production line it produced a healthy 240 horsepower, in its most recent state of tune Stuart has increased this to a truly insane 1036hp. Facing the serious task of linking all of that power to the pair of drag slicks at the rear is a Momentum supplied QBE69G Heavy Duty 6-Speed Sequential.

On a previous smaller turbo setup producing ‘only’ 960hp we were left truly dumbfounded when he managed to run an 8.7 second quarter mile. Given that Stuart’s original goal was to run a low 9 second pass it came as a bit of a surprise when he revealed the new turbo and then proceeded to run an 8.2 @ 170mph in qualifying for World Cup Finals 2019.

Unfortunately the automotive god's had other ideas and a starter motor failure combined with a stall in the staging area brought Stuart's weekend to an early end. Regardless it is a remarkable achievement, especially considering the S2000 is a genuine street car and while also the world's fastest QBE69G equipped vehicle.
